Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Industrial City host workshop to champion homegrown manufacturing
Dubai, UAE, 15 July 2025: The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), in collaboration with Dubai Industrial City, the region’s leading manufacturing and logistics hub, united its community at an informative workshop aimed at empowering manufacturers to pursue global expansion, enhance their export supply capabilities, adopt advanced technologies, and embrace sustainable energy solutions.
Dubai Industrial City, one of TECOM Group PJSC’s 10 vibrant business districts, has played a vital role in Dubai’s and the UAE’s manufacturing sector for more than 20 years. The workshop – part of the district’s ‘DI Talks’ series of community awareness events – was attended by industry leaders and stakeholders from Dubai Industrial City’s community. The session demonstrated the district’s support of Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which includes priorities such as promoting export growth, improving productivity and competitiveness of the manufacturing sector and attracting international companies to Dubai.
“Dubai’s and the UAE’s visionary leadership has set the foundation for a thriving manufacturing sector, and Dubai Industrial City champions vital connections between the public and private sectors to accelerate diversified economic growth,” said Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President – Industrial at TECOM Group, on behalf of Dubai Industrial City. “Our growing community of manufacturers is attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to Dubai and the UAE, strengthening the ‘Made in UAE’ brandmark around the world. Dubai Industrial City will continue empowering businesses to unlock their full potential and contribute to the goals of Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, and the D33 Agenda.”
Held at Dubai Industrial City, the event provided a valuable platform for networking and knowledge sharing, fostering discourse to drive economic diversification and sustainable industrial development led by public and private sector collaboration.
The agenda featured informative sessions covering Dubai’s Export Assistance Programme (EAP) and Power Friendly Initiative, in addition to pathways for in-country value optimisation and Industry 4.0 enablement. Attendees engaged directly with DET representatives, exploring how these programmes can be tailored to unlock their business objectives.
